My parents lived os for a year and must of visited the Cinque Terre at least four times they loved it so much. Highly reccommended! Last time I spend there I found a really beautiful small island located near Elba where it's really nice to stay. From my expirience the great thing about shouthern europe is the contrast between the small "fishing" villages and the big cities like Rome, Venice, Florence.
